Technological advance has affected many íĩelds, including in education and it has also opened multiple ways for leamers and teachers to apply in their learning and teaching. A lot of media can be used to facilitate this process and one of them is video blog (Vlog). ưsing Vlog inside and outside ofthe classroom can be used as a useíuỉ source to develop speaking, listenỉng and pronunciation skills. Vlog can be considered as a valuable tool to make students aware of the varieties of English spoken around the world and served as the valuable authentic materials for speaking skill. The aims of this study are to investigate the extent to which the implementation of Vlog improves the English-speaking skills among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students at an English centre and to explore the students’ opinions of using Vlog in teaching speaking skills, adopting action research approach. This action research is conducted in two classes with 30 students at a private English center in Hanoi with the focus on the effectiveness of Vlog in improving students’ speaking períồrmance. The data analysis is both qualitative and quantitative. The quantitative data analysis is based on the students’ speaking scores ofthe pre-test, post-test and a questionnaire for students. After 10 lessons, the posttest and the questionnaire were administered. The qualitative data is demonstrated through the interview with students.
